Με ομόφωνη απόφαση του Δ.Σ. ορίστηκε ως Αλυτάρχης του αγώνα ο κ. Νίκος Γκουβάτσος.

Συντονιστής ο Πρόεδρος και αναπληρωτής του ο κ. Γεώργιος Καλαντζάκος.

Ολοκληρώθηκε η παραλαβή των αιτήσεων συμμετοχής στις 31/05/13.Έντονο εκδηλώνεται το ενδιαφέρον για συμμετοχή στον αγώνα από διάφορες χώρες του κόσμου, από παλιούς αλλά και νέους δρομείς. Η λίστα της ηλεκτρονικής υποβολής δηλώσεων είχε κλείσει από τις 18 Ιανουαρίου και δημιουργήσαμε λίστα αναμονής με 250 ακόμη αθλητές.
Ήδη παραλάβαμε τις αποδοχές από 350 αθλητές, ανάμεσα τους είναι διακριθέντες, κατά το παρελθόν,αθλητές από 37 χώρες. Σύμφωνα με την απόφαση του Δ.Σ. γίνονται δεκτές οι πρώτες 350. Ανάμεσα τους είναι 46 Έλληνες και άλλοι δέκα έξη σε αναμονή.

At the closing ceremony awarding medals was given to athletes who took part in the tournament, the curtain falls today (Monday) on "30th Spartathlon.

The event was held by the International Association SPARTATHLON.

In the race that was very hard, and just 72 athletes finished the race from the 310 total that started Friday morning from the Acropolis. Cause was the heat and humidity that prevailed during the weekend of the race and led 238 athletes to leave.
Of the 44 Greek participants finished the 12. Specifically, Sparta arrived and finished the Stergios Anastasiadis (14th), Luke Constans (23rd), Spyros Spyropoulos (33rd), Yannis Dimopoulos (34th), John Apostolopoulos (38th), Apollonius Gogos (52nd), George Krystallis (58th) Summer patacas (59th), John Papamichael (62nd), George Panos (67th), Constantine Georgiopoulos (70th), George Zachariades (72nd).

FIRST WOMAN AND THIRD IN GENERAL CLASSIFICATION OF THE BEST IN HISTORY PLUS TIME OF RACE, ELIZABETH HAWKER FROM BRITAIN

EXCLUSIVE EVENT OF DONOR "SPARTATHLON 2012," IS THE FOUNDATION "STAVROS NIARCHOS"

 The German Stu Thoms won the "SPARTATHLON ', which this year completed 30 years history.

The race was held in Athens-Sparta route distance 246 km participated 310 athletes from 36 countries.

In terms of women, the stunning Elizabeth Hawker from Britain, finished third in the overall standings, 27 hours recording time of 02.17, which is the best in its 30-year history. The previous record in the category of women belonging to Sumy Inagkaki from Japan with a time of 27 hours 39.49 from 2009.

This year's race was hiding surprises as there have been many changes due to the great heat thereby affect the efforts of the athletes. This resulted in leaving many athletes.

With a large turnout athletes begins Friday morning at 7 from the Acropolis, the Odeon before the 30th international race "SPARTATHLON 2012" to be held the weekend of 28-29 September in Athens-Sparta route distance 246 km.

The International Association SPARTATHLON with members of this year has been prepared properly in order to achieve success the historical struggle, completing 30 years. Still, in cooperation with the municipalities of Athens, Sparta, and the police have set up all the details, not to create any problems in the race.

THIRTY YEARS HISTORY OF THE "SPARTATHLON"

Thirty year is celebrating the international race of ultramarathon "SPARTATHLON" which will take place the weekend of 28-29 September in Athens-Sparta route distance 246 km. The race is conducted on the footsteps of Pheidippides, the ancient Athenian runner and is notable as part of the big names in the field of ultra while many foreign broadcasters and news agencies will cover the organization that revives a piece of Greek history.
As is known, Pheidippides was sent to Sparta in 490 BC, before the battle of Marathon, to ask for help in the war led by the Greeks against the Persians. According to Herodotus, Pheidippides arrived in Sparta the day after his departure from Athens.

Impressive is also this year's participation of athletes that will take part in the international long distance race "SPARTATHLON 2012" to be held on the 28-29 September in Athens-Sparta route, distance 246 km. There are 30 years already since the establishment of the institution.
