This will be my second Spartathlon having run it in2014 and thankfully finished it. I have represented NZ twice in the IAU World 24 hr Championships and last year 2015 ran Tor des geant. Unfortunately the race was called off due to extreme weather when I was at the 207km mark. I do not think I have the qualification now as I have been battling injury and a few life changes have made getting the training in hard. I am now settled in the South Island of New Zealand and my goal for 2020 is to return to Spartathlon and run in this amazing race again. I did compete in the Sri Chinmoy 6 day race in New York in 2017 doing 364 miles, I did this without a support person, going over on my own.

 Spartathlon revives the footsteps of Pheidippides, an ancient Athenian long distance runner, who in 490 BC, before the battle of Marathon, was sent to Sparta to seek help in the war between the Greeks and the Persians.

Described as the world's most grueling race, the Spartathlon runs over rough tracks and muddy paths, crosses vineyards and olive groves, climbs steep hillsides and, most challenging of all, takes the runners on the 1,200 meter ascent and descent of Mount Parthenio in the dead of night.
