Short CV:
I started running ultra marathons in 2019 and have been gradually entering longer races. In 2022 I completed the Centurion Running 100 mile Grand Slam (Thames Path unofficially as I had Covid for the race so ran it in December) and in 2023 I ran the Marathon des Sables, GUCR and the Battersea 24 hour track race. So far this year I have completed the Arc of Attrition 100 and will be going back to run the official Thames Path 100 in May. I mainly run on road and am enjoying the longer distances so Spartathlon is an obvious race for my bucket list!

 Spartathlon revives the footsteps of Pheidippides, an ancient Athenian long distance runner, who in 490 BC, before the battle of Marathon, was sent to Sparta to seek help in the war between the Greeks and the Persians.

Described as the world's most grueling race, the Spartathlon runs over rough tracks and muddy paths, crosses vineyards and olive groves, climbs steep hillsides and, most challenging of all, takes the runners on the 1,200 meter ascent and descent of Mount Parthenio in the dead of night.
