I am an Spanish amateur runner who enjoys running, the longer the better, therefore I like ultras, and specially the real and original one, the Spartathlon. After years training and racing, at my 52 years old, I am getting my best results, including a first position in a 24 hours race in Madrid, and a 38nd position in the Marathon des Sables 2018. After the COVID I have returned to good results with a 205 km in the 24 hour Barcelona 2021 Now I feel prepared for the Spartathlon and look forward into it

 Spartathlon revives the footsteps of Pheidippides, an ancient Athenian long distance runner, who in 490 BC, before the battle of Marathon, was sent to Sparta to seek help in the war between the Greeks and the Persians.

Described as the world's most grueling race, the Spartathlon runs over rough tracks and muddy paths, crosses vineyards and olive groves, climbs steep hillsides and, most challenging of all, takes the runners on the 1,200 meter ascent and descent of Mount Parthenio in the dead of night.
