For several years, I've been running ultramarathons around Europe, with a special focus on trail running, where I've achieved my best results. My love for long distances, nature, and extreme challenges has led me to tackle some of the toughest and most fascinating trails in the world. I already participated in the Spartathlon last year, one of the most challenging races I've ever attempted, but unfortunately I wasn't able to finish. This year, however, I'm trying again, with more determination than ever: this is the year for it!

 Spartathlon revives the footsteps of Pheidippides, an ancient Athenian long distance runner, who in 490 BC, before the battle of Marathon, was sent to Sparta to seek help in the war between the Greeks and the Persians.

Described as the world's most grueling race, the Spartathlon runs over rough tracks and muddy paths, crosses vineyards and olive groves, climbs steep hillsides and, most challenging of all, takes the runners on the 1,200 meter ascent and descent of Mount Parthenio in the dead of night.
