“Endurance running is not about one race or one result - it is about discipline, patience and showing up every single day. My goal is continuous improvement, both as an athlete and as a person.” I have always been passionate about sports. As a child, I trained as a swimmer. Today, I run every day (around 6,000 km per year). I love the mountains and trail running, and I also enjoy swimming and cycling occasionally. I am a husband, a father of two, and a proud dog owner. Ever since I started running in 2010, my ultimate dream has been to take part in SPARTATHLON. Along the way, I have completed all 18 marathons I have entered, as well as 12-hour and 24-hour ultra races. I have broken the 3-hour marathon barrier several times, with a personal best of 2h 51m. In 2024, during my first-ever 12-hour race, I covered 121.9 km. In 2025, in my debut 24-hour race, I reached 230 km. That same year, I placed 3rd 🥉 in the Slovenian National Championship (24h), and 2nd 🥈 in my second 12-hour race attempt. My greatest dream - to reach SPARTATHLON and symbolically “kiss the feet of Leonidas” - became reality ☺️ in 2025, when I finished it on my first attempt in 28h 40m 11s. This was the 3rd 🥉 fastest Slovenian debut in SPARTATHLON history (since 1983). In March 2026, I competed in a 24-hour race in Koper, Slovenia, where I won both the 12-hour and 24-hour men’s categories and became Slovenian National Champion in both. I covered 126.96 km in 12 hours and 238.68 km in 24 hours, within the same race 🥇🥇🥇. In September 2026, I returned to SPARTATHLON for the second consecutive year and successfully completed the legendary 246 km race for the second time. I improved my finishing time from 28h 40m 11s in 2025 to 26h 48m 46s in 2026, despite extremely challenging weather conditions, including hours of torrential rain, strong winds and dense fog in the mountains. This experience reinforced my belief that endurance running is built on consistency, resilience and the determination to keep moving forward, whatever the conditions. Two consecutive SPARTATHLON finishes mark another milestone in my journey. The next challenge is still unwritten — but the journey continues. 🏅
