My name is Petra Peuhu and I am a passionate Finnish ultrarunner. I started running 2013 and after that completed approximately 80 marathons and ultramarathons. Ultras I have finished races up to 300 km, mostly on trails, including the NUTS 300 km in Lapland in 2025. In February 2026 I ran Endurance 24 h track race, covering 194.133 km (F50 1st, Finnish NC F4), achieving my qualification result for Spartathlon. I enjoy long and demanding races that test both physical and mental endurance. Spartathlon has been a long-time dream for me, and I am highly motivated to prepare well and give my absolute best from Athens to Sparta.

 Spartathlon revives the footsteps of Pheidippides, an ancient Athenian long distance runner, who in 490 BC, before the battle of Marathon, was sent to Sparta to seek help in the war between the Greeks and the Persians.

Described as the world's most grueling race, the Spartathlon runs over rough tracks and muddy paths, crosses vineyards and olive groves, climbs steep hillsides and, most challenging of all, takes the runners on the 1,200 meter ascent and descent of Mount Parthenio in the dead of night.
