I am an ultrarunner with ankylosing spondylitis (Bechtrew). I am 58 years old, married, Police officer, veteran and sportsman who always goes for the positive side of life. Started ultrarunning in 2017 and achieved better results every year despite age and limitations. In 2024 and 2025, I finished the Ultrabalaton in Hungary twice. Unfortunately a non-finish at the Spartathlon after 164 km after an injury sustained eralier in the race. I hope to get a new chance this year 2026. This year started positivelhy with a 100 mile run within 20 hours in the Duth HOHO 100 mile. I hope I can now start to achieve my ultimete dream goal and finish the Spartathlon that shows that everything is possible with the right mindset. I hope to motivate many people despite limitations by Running the hystoric Sparthalon. Thank you Alexander Schaap
